About Us

How it started

A small group of alumni, staff and friends of Mark Morris met in 2008 to form the Mark Morris High School Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to provide support to Mark Morris High School and provide for scholarships for Mark Morris students and graduates.

Although the expressed purpose of the foundation is supporting Mark Morris, we will also be a conduit to help serve alumni with information. Classes are invited to submit information regarding their class reunions and links to their websites.

The foundation became official on June 11, 2008 when it was incorporated as in the State of Washington as a nonprofit charitable organization

Purpose

The purposes for which this corporation, a nonprofit charitable organization, is formed are:

  • To provide support for Mark Morris High School, Longview, Washington;
  • To provide scholarships for Mark Morris High School students and graduates; and
  • To engage in any other lawful activity which may hereafter be authorized from time to time by the Board of Directors; provided, however, that the purposes for which the corporation is formed shall at all times be consistent with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as it now exists or as hereafter amended (the “Code”), including within such purposes the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Code.

Board of Directors

The foundation is guided by a board of directors. The initial board was derived from alumni and staff who have been involved in the conception of the foundation. Membership on the board is set up on a rotating basis on one, two and three year terms. If you have interest in being involved as a future board member, please contact on our contact page or through the office at Mark Morris High School.
